Gopal Rai is our specialist for guiding strenuous trekking trips, including the treks to Dolpa, Mustang, Dhaulagiri round, Manaslu round, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, the 3 passes trek in Khumbu and the Rolwaling trek. His expansive knowledge of trekking all over Nepal and Tibet, and especially for trekking in the high Himalayan ranges of both Nepal and Tibet, makes trekking with him both safe and special Gopal started his career as a porter (the most basic job in trekking) and later he joined a cooking course and started serving as a cook for several years. Afterwards, he took the Trekking Guide Course conducted by the Department of Tourism Ministry, the Mountaineering Training conducted by the Nepal Mountaineering Association and the Wilderness First Aid course by KEEP. With so much initiative and his passion for trekking and mountaineering, he’s become one of our most valued tour leaders leading treks across Nepal, and Tibet.
