1992
Himalayan Sherpa Adventure was founded by Mr Phurba Gyaltsen Sherpa and began its services in trekking and expeditions in the Himalayas of Nepal, Tibet, India, Bhutan and Pakistan. Mr Sherpa till today serves as the company’s Managing Director.
1993
Partnered with Wikinger Reisen (Germany). We have been Wikinger’s travel agent for over 2 decades which helps bring many German tourists to Nepal.
1994
Mr Sherpa along with Mr Morisaki founded Japan’s Himalayan Sherpa Adventure. Since then we have opened doors for many Japanese clients to visit Nepal. First expedition successfully organized to Mt Baruntse (7,162m) and Mt Ama Dablam (6,812m) by Himalayan Sherpa Adventure.
1994

1998
First successful expedition to Mt Everest (8,848m) from Nepal side. From then on we started operating high mountaineering expeditions in Tibet, India, and Pakistan.
1999-2002
Managing Director Mr Phurba served as an executive member of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).
2001-2003
Managing Director Mr Phurba served as General Secretary of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) which is the largest umbrella organization of Nepal, where only the registered trekking agency of Nepal can partake a membership.
2005
Built Kongde Hotel in Kongde (4,250m) Kongde Hotel, which started in 2005 in Kongde standing at an elevation of 4,250 m (13,950 ft), is a comfort hotel in the Himalayas.

2006-2008
Mr Phurba Gyaltsen Sherpa served as the First Vice President of Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) 2006-2008.
2011-2018
Mr Phurba served as an Executive Board Member of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Coordinator of “Budget and Program committee” of NTB for the Nepali fiscal year 2071/72 . Nepal Tourism Board is a national tourism organization of Nepal established in 1998 by an Act of Parliament in the form of a partnership between the Government of Nepal and the private sector tourism industry to develop and market Nepal as an attractive tourist destination. Mr Sherpa was 1 of 5 selected from the Private sector of tourism industry by the Nepal’s government. Established Himalayan Sherpa Foundation (HSF) in 2013: With a purpose to help and elevate the living standards of locals in the Himalayan region of Nepal. Himalayan Sherpa Foundation is a non-profit organization focusing on health services, quality of education and protecting the cultural and religious heritage sites of the Everest region and remote areas.
2013

2014
Another addition to comfort hotels - Sherpa Shangrila Resort in Phakding (2,600m) Sherpa Shangrila Resort in Phakding started operating in 2014. This was our second addition to our comfort chain hotels.
2016
Altitude Air in 2016: In 2016, we entered the aviation sector with a brand new helicopter company called Altitude Air. With affiliation to the aviation industry, we now operate our tours and treks more smoothly.
2018
Himalayan Sherpa Hospital (HSH) in 2018: Our HSH project is currently under construction in Phakding, Solukhumbu, and is expected to be completed by 2022 since Covid-19 has interrupted the work process at the moment. This project is overlooked by the Himalayan Sherpa Foundation team.
2020
2020- to Present: MD Sherpa has been elected bv Government of Nepal to serve as an Executive Board Member of the Nepal Airlines Corporation Nepal Airlines Corporation is the national carrier of the country and operates domestic services within Nepal and medium-haul services in Asia. Mr Sherpa plans to expand the flight routes to International destinations.
