Nepal is home to 8 of the world fourteen 8000 m peaks. Nepal's lofty peaks have drawn mountaineers from all over the world ever since its mountains were opened up to foreign climbers in 1949. Over the years the Sherpa community has taken it upon themselves to guide and support the climbers who descended upon there homeland from around the world in hopes of conquering the planets highest peaks. Their strength and loyalty on the mountain has made the mere word "Sherpa" synonymous with the accent of great mountains.
