Cultural and Spiritual tour is a once in a lifetime excursion tour offered for people interested in learning about spiritualism and Nepalese culture that has been around for hundreds of decades. This tour will give you a taste of both the cultural and natural sights of Nepal by taking you to the very birthplace of Lord Buddha– Lumbini, and Namobuddha, from where you can understand and learn the birth of Buddhism and its philosophy. While being educated about religion, you will also be able to witness the beauty of Kathmandu, Lumbini, and Namobuddha.

Cultural and Spiritual tour is a once in a lifetime excursion tour offered for people interested in learning about spiritualism and Nepalese culture that has been around for hundreds of decades. Despite being a relatively small country, Nepal is extremely rich in culture, tradition, religion, and landscapes. There are 123 languages spoken by people from different zones, districts, regions, and cities of Nepal. This tour will give you a taste of both the cultural and natural sights of Nepal by taking you to the very birthplace of Lord Buddha– Lumbini, and Namobuddha, from where you can understand and learn the birth of Buddhism and its philosophy. While being educated about religion, you will also be able to witness the beauty of Kathmandu, Lumbini, and Namobuddha. 

All in all, you will be able to enjoy all the combinations of Nature, History, Religion, Culture, and Lifestyle, making your journey a once in a lifetime. The main highlight of this tour is the visit to several World Heritage Sites, visiting monasteries and conversing with monks, learning about ancient Hindu-Buddhist sacred historical places while enjoying the food, culture, lifestyle, and people. The hotels provided are hygienic, located near the touristic sites, and designed in a very natural and scenic way. During your stay in Kathmandu, you can take a dip in the infinite pool on top of the hotel while you take a look at the view of Kathmandu City!

You can travel to Kathmandu at any time of the year and any season. However, the monsoon season– usually June to August– has approximately 80% rainfall. Spring (March-May) and Fall (September - November) are the recommended seasons to travel due to its pleasant weather. The Winter season (December - February) is also recommended if you would like to experience the best season for trekking and exploring the Himalayas.

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

    Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), a representative from Himalayan Sherpa Adventure will greet you and help drop you off at the designated hotel. You will receive a short briefing about the tour in the afternoon, followed by a complimentary welcome dinner with your guides. Overnight at Hotel Mulberry, Thamel in Kathmandu. Bed and breakfast included.

  • Day 2 - Cultural Kathmandu City Tour (1,400 m)

    After breakfast and a quick briefing on the itinerary, you will begin the day with a sightseeing tour around the city of Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square consists of multiple old Pagoda temples and palaces, where former kings of Nepal were crowned, hence being the historic seat of the Nepalese Royalty. Pashupatinath is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindu people across Southern Asia and one of the most famous Hindu temples in the world built by the Lichchhavi King Supuspadeva in 465-500 AD. This Shiva temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and is also a cremation site for the Hindu people. More than 2000 years old, Swayambhunath is a glorious Buddhist Stupa located three kilometers west of Kathmandu city. The stupa contains a medley of small Stupas and Pagoda temples, which are highly respected and visited daily by many Buddhist people. The stupa is also well known as the monkey temple because of the many harmless monkeys you can see around the hill while exploring the stupa. Overnight at Hotel Mulberry, Thamel in Kathmandu.   • Day 3 – Drive from Kathmandu to Lumbini (150 m) 40-mins flight/ 8-hour drive

    After breakfast, you have two traveling options– an 8 hours drive (321 km) or a 40 minutes flight. Once you check-in the hotel, you can enjoy a delicious lunch in Lumbini Hokke Hotel– one of the finest hotels available in the vicinity. After lunch, your guide will give you a sightseeing tour around the close towns near the hotel to get acquainted with the culture, surroundings, and local people. Overnight at Lumbini Hokke Hotel in Lumbini. Bed and breakfast included.

  • Day 4 – Sightseeing in Lumbini (150 m)

    After breakfast, you will tour around the New Tourist Village, the World Peace Pagoda, and the museums nearby. Later, you will visit Mayadevi Temple– the birthplace of the former king Lord Siddhartha Gautam Buddha. You will also see the remains of the ancient temple walls dating back from 3rd BC. to 12 AD., the statue of the nativity scene, and the ‘Marker Stone’ which is the exact spot where Buddha was said to be born. Here, you can also witness the Ashoka Pillar with a detailed inscription explaining Ashoka’s Buddhism- supporting his desire to spread the dharma throughout his kingdom and is the first physical evidence of the Buddhism faith.

  • Day 5 - Explore Lumbini (150 m)

    After breakfast, you will start the tour covering major shrine locations such as Niglihawa, Sagarhawa, Gotihawa, Tilaurakot, and Kudan. First, you will visit the Lumbini Garden to attend some prayers. You will then drive to other religious and archaeological sites. Tilaurakot– the ancient Kapilvastu and the capital of Shakyas, was where Buddha spent his first 29 years as a prince. After his access to enlightenment, Kudan (Nigrodharma Park) was the place where King Suddhodhana received Buddha and his followers to accommodate them. Gotihawa is famous for being the birthplace of Krakuchanda Buddha, and Niglihawa is popular for being the birthplace of Kanak Muni Buddha. Sagarhawa plays a vital role in history according to the archaeological findings this place is the place of the massacre of the Shakyas. Overnight at Lumbini Hokke Hotel in Lumbini.   • Day 6 - Fly from Lumbini to Kathmandu, Drive to Namobuddha (1,750 m) 2 hours drive

    After eating breakfast, you can enjoy a beautiful walk while soaking in all the spiritual powers that Lumbini has to offer. As the tour nears towards the end, we fly from Lumbini to Kathmandu heading towards Namobuddha, our next destination by driving for 2 hours. Among the three major Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal, Namobuddha holds an important religious value along with Bouddhnath and Swayambhunath. Located 40 km away from Kathmandu- the capital city of Nepal, Namobuddha lies in the Kavre District in the southeast of Kathmandu Valley. When translated, Namobuddha means “Hail to the Buddha” which originated from the story where the legendary Buddha sacrificed his body to feed a tigress and her cubs dying from hunger to save their lives. Many Nepalese and Buddhists visit Namobuddha to spend some time and learn the history of such an important pilgrimage. Some even stay overnight at the monastery with limited rooms offered. You can also see some magnificent and breathtaking sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayan range covered with snowcaps from Namobuddha. Overnight in Namobuddha. Bed and breakfast included.

  • Day 7 - Drive from Namobuddha - Bhaktapur - Kathmandu (1,400 m)

    After breakfast, you will drive from Namobuddha to Bhaktapur which will be your final sightseeing tour. Bhaktapur, known as the “City of Devotees”, is a precious medieval city-state in the Kathmandu valley that holds valuable artistic creations displayed on the monument and multiple Hindu and Buddhist temples of the city. When you visit Bhaktapur, you can see women wear Black and Red traditional Newari attire. Among many activities, pottery, painting, and handicrafts are big in Bhaktapur. Despite multiple buildings and temples destroyed during the 2015 earthquake, you can still witness diverse beauties of the society and the live culture passed down over thousands of years and generations. After the completion of the sightseeing, you will head back to your hotel in Thamel. You will have enough free time to roam around the tourist hub of Thamel, explore the little shops and boutiques during your spare time. Overnight at Hotel Mulberry, Thamel in Kathmandu. Bed and breakfast included.

  • Day - 8 Final Departure or Join another tour/trek

    After breakfast, you will have time to pack your luggage and belongings. Our agents will help escort you to the airport 3 hours before your departure time.
