Here, you will get an opportunity to debate and converse with monks and get a glimpse of the Tibetan monks’ daily life while exploring this historical Buddhist academy. Sitting in a northern suburb of Lhasa at the base of Pubuchok Mountain, Sera monastery covers 28 acres/11 hectares of land. During its former prime time, the monastery held 5 separate colleges of instruction, where more than 5,000 monks resided. But in comparison, the monastery is significantly smaller today.
